Após quase um ano sem lutar no exterior, Moacir Mendes Jr. volta a disputar uma competição em tatames estrangeiros. Além dele, Maria Portela também representará a equipe Oi/Sogipa de judô que disputará entre os dias 6 e 8 de maio, no Grand Prix de Baku, no Azerbaijão. Moacir e Portela viajam na próxima segunda-feira, 2 de maio.
“Desde março eu não baixei o nível do meu treino. A ansiedade pela competição é grande, quero estar sempre lutando para me manter sempre bem”, disse o atleta que sofreu uma pequena lesão no joelho que não deve atrapalhar.
“Estou fazendo fisioterapia e treinando normal. A lesão é pequena e não vai atrapalhar o meu desempenho”.
Além dos sogipanos, integrarão a Seleção Brasileira os seguintes judocas: Victor Penalber (categoria até 73kg), Leandro Guilheiro (até 81kg), Leonardo Leite (até 100kg), Daniel Hernandes (mais de 100kg) e João Gabriel (mais de 100kg) serão os representantes. Já entre as mulheres, estarão Sarah Menezes (até 48kg) e Camila Minakawa (até 63kg).

Sogipanos competing Grand Prix in Azerbaijan
