Com sete meses para o início dos Jogos Pan-Americanos de Guadalajara, no México, o Comitê Organizador (Copag) confirmou a realização de 11 torneios que servirão como testes das instalações. A primeira competição será o Campeonato Pan-Americano Senior de Judô, com participação do Brasil, entre os dias 1 e 3 de abril.
Além de ser a última oportunidade para conseguir pontos para o Pan-Americano no continente, o torneio renderá pontuação para os Jogos Olímpicos de Londres, em 2012.
O Copag estima em 320 o número de judocas, que competirão nas categorias individuais e por equipe. Os brasileiros terão a companhia de atletas de outros 25 países.
O palco da competição será o Code II, que também vai funcionar como local de hospedagem para os atletas. Na sequência, estão previstos eventos de atletismo, karatê, boliche, levantamento de peso, e hipismo, encerrando com vôlei de praia, entre 28 de setembro e 2 de outubro.

Pan American starts series of tests with 11 judo events
With seven months to the start of the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, the Organising Committee (Copag) confirmed the completion of 11 tournaments that serve as testing facilities. The first competition will be the Pan American Senior Championship Judo, with the participation of Brazil, between January and April 3.
Besides being the last chance to get points for the Pan-American on the continent, the tournament will earn points for the London Olympics in 2012.
The Copag estimates at 320 the number of judo players who compete in individual and team categories. The Brazilians will be joined by athletes from 25 other countries.
The stage of the competition will be the Code II, which will also function as a place of lodging for the athletes. Following are planned events, athletics, karate, bowling, weight lifting, and riding, ending with beach volleyball, between September 28 and October 2.
