Maior aula de judo do mundo leva sete mil jovens ao Terreiro do Paço

O secretário de Estado da Juventude e Desporto elogiou hoje a maior aula de judo do Mundo, iniciativa que visa formar "campeões para a vida" e levará a 01 de junho sete mil jovens praticantes ao Terreiro do Paço, em Lisboa.

"O desporto português precisa muito destas iniciativas, que se destinam a exaltar os valores primeiros do desporto e fazer campeões para a vida, muito para além de serem campeões no aspecto desportivo", observou Laurentino Dias durante a conferência de imprensa de apresentação do evento, na capital portuguesa.


Nuno Delgado, medalha de bronze em Sidnei2000 e um dos promotores da iniciativa, assinalou que a maior aula de judo do mundo "é o contributo para que Portugal dê o exemplo de que este é o caminho a seguir para o sucesso na vida".


"Estarão sete mil pessoas vestidas de quimono no Terreiro do Paço para participar na maior aula de judo do mundo", explicou Nuno Delgado, alertando para a componente social do evento, pois o número de quimonos corresponderá a sete mil crianças que beneficiarão dos programas "Formar campeões para vida".

A iniciativa coincidirá com o Dia Mundial da Criança e o arranque mundial do Dia Mandela, de cuja fundação recebeu o apoio oficial, bem como com a abertura das festas da cidade de Lisboa, o que motivou a presença do presidente da edilidade lisboeta, António Costa.
