Quatro vezes campeão paraolímpico, o judoca Antônio Tenório briga por mais um título nos tatames. O atleta compete no Mundial de Jiu Jitsu, realizado no Ginásio do Ibirapuera, em São Paulo, neste fim de semana.
Tenório, que é cego, vai defender o título de campeão mundial da competição para atletas sem deficiência. "Sempre entro para estar no pódio. Quero ficar entre os três melhores, se o título vier, melhor ainda", disse o atleta que participa em duas categorias: absoluto sênior e de atletas até 100kg.
Com técnica apurada e talento no jiu jitsu, Tenório é um dos maiores nomes do judô paraolímpico.
"Competir no jiu jitsu me ajuda a ganhar ritmo para as competições do judô, o que contribui muito para o aperfeiçoamento minha luta. Esse ano tem Parapan, onde estarão os melhores atletas do continente. Quero treinar bastante para trazer medalha", comentouu Tenório.
