Vitória - O drama de João Derly parece não ter mais fim. Depois de ficar 15 meses afastado das competições, quando passou por duas cirurgias no joelho esquerdo, o bicampeão mundial de judô voltou a lutar neste sábado, em Vitória (ES), durante a seletiva final para definir a seleção brasileira para a temporada 2011. E sofreu uma nova contusão, dessa vez no outro joelho.
Bicampeão mundial dos meio-leves (até 66kg), em 2005 e 2007, João Derly sofreu grave lesão no joelho esquerdo em dezembro de 2009, quando tinha acabado de mudar de categoria - está agora nos leves (até 73kg). Quando preparava o retorno, seis meses depois da primeira cirurgia, surgiram novas dores no local e ele passou por uma artroscopia.
Assim, depois de tanto tempo de recuperação, voltou às competições neste sábado. Mas, durante a sua segunda luta na seletiva, contra Marcelo Contini, João Derly caiu no chão e sentiu a lesão no joelho direito, abandonando a disputa. A gravidade do caso ainda não foi determinada pelos médicos, mas o judoca ficou muito chateado.
"Ainda não sei a gravidade da lesão, mas estou muito chateado. Estava muito feliz em voltar aos tatames e fazer o que eu mais gosto. É uma pena que eu tenha me lesionado mais uma vez. Faz parte do esporte", lamentou João Derly, que completa 30 anos em junho. Mesmo assim, ele conseguiu a última vaga disponível na seleção brasileira.
João Derly conseguiu o quarto e último lugar da seleção na categoria até 73kg, o que permitirá que defenda o Brasil apenas no Grand Slam do Rio e na Copa do Mundo de São Paulo durante a temporada - dependendo da recuperação da nova lesão. Os outros dois judocas da seletiva, Moacir Mendes Júnior e Marcelo Contini ficaram na sua frente na equipe, assim como Bruno Mendonça, que já estava previamente classificado por causa da sua boa posição no ranking mundial.
A seletiva deste sábado não contou com alguns dos principais nomes do judô brasileiro, como Leandro Guilheiro, Flávio Canto, Tiago Camilo, Mayra Aguiar, Sarah Menezes e Erika Miranda, que já estavam garantidos na seleção por causa da boa posição que ocupam no ranking mundial. Assim, outro destaque em Vitória foi Ketleyn Quadros.
Única medalhista olímpica do judô feminino brasileiro - foi bronze nos Jogos de Pequim, em 2008 -, Ketleyn Quadros passou por má fase, mas está se recuperando. Ela mostrou isso neste sábado, ao vencer a seletiva na categoria até 57kg, garantindo a sua presença na seleção durante a temporada de 2011, decisiva para formar a equipe que vai para a Olimpíada de Londres, em 2012.
"Com certeza, esta foi mais uma etapa cumprida no caminho até Londres. Agora que estou de volta à seleção, é focar os treinos para as competições internacionais e buscar pontos no ranking mundial. Fico feliz de poder seguir com o sonho de disputar mais uma Olimpíada", disse Ketleyn Quadros, após a boa participação na seletiva.
Além de Ketleyn Quadros, os outros vencedores da seletiva foram Breno Alves (até 60kg), Luiz Revite (até 66kg), Moacir Mendes Júnior (até 73kg), Felipe Costa (até 81kg), Bruno Ferreira (até 90kg), Renan Nunes (até 100kg), Walter Santos (acima de 100kg), Nathália Brígida (até 48kg), Eleudis Valentin (até 52kg), Katherine Campos (até 63kg), Maria Portela (até 70kg), Samantha Soares (até 78kg) e Claudirene César (acima de 78kg).
