O clima de carnaval vai ser deixado de lado por três judocas do Rio Grande do Sul neste final de semana. Em nome do sonho de representar o País nos Jogos Pan-Americanos de Guadalajara, Taciana Lima, Maria Portela e Rodrigo Luna passarão o próximo final de semana em Guayaquil, no Equador, onde lutam pela Seleção Brasileira no Campeonato Sul-Americano e na Copa Pan-Americana.
O trio da Oi/Sogipa se une a outros 11 atletas brasileiros na briga por pontos no ranking que apontará a equipe para o torneio no México, no segundo semestre. A Copa Pan-Americana tem início nesta sexta-feira e deve ter cerca de 170 competidores oriundos de 21 países – entre eles, potências do judô no continente como Cuba, Argentina e Colômbia.
A programação já foi definida. Luna e Portela lutam na sexta-feira, pela categoria médio – 90 kg e 70 kg , respectivamente. Taciana, do peso ligeiro (48 kg ), sobe no tatame no sábado.
Rodrigo Luna saiu de Porto Alegre direto para o Equador, enquanto Taciana Lima e Maria Portela estavam na Europa havia três semanas, envolvidas em etapas de Copa do Mundo. Ambas retornaram com uma medalha cada e querem manter o embalo: “Esta competição faz parte do meu objetivo nesta temporada eu deixo a folia pra quem ficou lá no Brasil” explica Portela.
O treinador dos três na Sogipa e diretor técnico da Federação Gaúcha de Judô, Antônio Carlos Pereira, o Kiko, acredita que elas já chegam com ritmo ao Equador: “Taciana e Portela respiram judô competitivo há três semanas. Vão chegar lá com tudo”, afirma. “Quanto ao Rodrigo, ele busca um grande resultado para começar bem o ano”, completa. Luna fará sua estreia em torneios internacionais na temporada no Equador.
Além do trio do Estado, representam o Brasil nos eventos em Guayaquil: Andressa Fernandes, Ketleyn Quadros, Mariana Silva, Nádia Merly e Maria Suelen Althemann; Daniel Moraes, Luis Revite, Marcelo Contini, Nacif Elias, Alex Aguiar e João Gabriel Schlittler.------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trio of RS carnival leaves to fight for Brazil squad
The carnival atmosphere will be set aside by the three judokas New South Wales this weekend.
